GSC Alumnus Returning to Campus for Guest Lecture
Timothy Henline, a 2009 ÏãåúÖ±²¥ State College graduate, is returning to his alma mater on Thursday, December 3 to deliver a presentation about his educational and business experiences. The presentation will begin at 12:30 p.m. in room 100 of the Heflin Administration Building.
GSC Pledges Increased Support for Student Veterans
ÏãåúÖ±²¥ State College is pledging increased support for student veterans as part of the West Virginia's '5 Star Challenge' initiative which launched earlier this fall. The Challenge, which calls on institutions to adopt a set of exemplary standards for supporting student veterans, is a tribute to the military tradition of issuing 'challenge coins' to service members who embody the values and standards of their military units.
Art Day Being Planned at GSC
Art students, parents, alumni, and educators are invited to ÏãåúÖ±²¥ State College on Saturday, December 5 for Art Day. The annual event highlights the exciting degree programs in Studio Art and Graphics and Digital Media at GSC. The day will provide visitors with the opportunity to work directly with GSC faculty and current art students for a day of workshops supported by the art faculty.
Tree Lighting Ceremony at GSC is November 30
ÏãåúÖ±²¥ State College President Dr. Peter Barr and his wife Betsy invite GSC faculty, staff, students, and local residents to kick off the holiday season with the tenth annual GSC Tree Lighting Ceremony to take place on Monday, November 30 at 4:30 p.m. in the Luanna T. Smith Amphitheatre.
Annual Thanksgiving Premium Night Scheduled at GSC
The public is invited to Mollohan’s Restaurant at ÏãåúÖ±²¥ State College on Thursday, November 19 from 4:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. for GSC’s Thanksgiving Premium Night.
GSC Group Raises Awareness for Student Suicide
Members of the ÏãåúÖ±²¥ State College student organization Pioneers for a Cause braved a frosty Monday morning to bring awareness to a somber subject – student suicide. The group covered the campus lawn at Clark Hall with backpacks that included stories of students who had been lost to suicide.
Workshop for K-12 Teachers Planned at GSC
A workshop for K-12 teachers of all disciplines, including both preservice and in-service instructors, will be held at ÏãåúÖ±²¥ State College on Friday, November 13 and Saturday, November 14. The workshop will focus on Project Learning Tree (PLT) and Project Water Education for Teachers (WET).
Graduate Returning to GSC for Guest Lecture
Ken Kuhl, Vice President of Event Development at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas and a 1982 ÏãåúÖ±²¥ State College graduate, is returning to his alma mater on Friday, November 13 to deliver a presentation about his background, education, and work experience. The presentation will begin at noon in GSC's Mollohan Campus Community Center Ballroom.
