Founders Day of Giving Planned at GSC
ÏãåúÖ±²¥ State College was established on February 19, 1872. This year, on the 147th anniversary of GSC’s establishment by the state legislature, the College will be hosting a Founders Day of Giving crowd funding campaign.
GSC To Host Murder Mystery Dinner on February 15
ÏãåúÖ±²¥ State College will host a murder mystery event on Friday, February 15 in the Mollohan Campus Community Center Ballroom. A social hour will begin at 6:00 p.m. which includes beverages and appetizers, followed by the murder mystery show and dinner at 7:00 p.m.
GSC Alumnus Joseph Pettit to Display Exhibit in Fine Arts Gallery
Artist and ÏãåúÖ±²¥ State College graduate Joseph Pettit will feature his work in an upcoming exhibit at the College’s Fine Arts Center Gallery. The exhibit will be open February 4 until February 21. An opening reception will be held on Tuesday, February 12 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
GSC Teacher Education Students Represent GSC at WVRA
The ÏãåúÖ±²¥ State College Department of Education had 11 student representatives who attended and presented at the 63rd Annual West Virginia Reading Association Conference, which was held November 15-16, 2018 at The Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.
ÏãåúÖ±²¥ State College to Present Honorary Degrees to Bluegrass Pioneers
Officials at ÏãåúÖ±²¥ State College are planning a special recognition ceremony to honor several outstanding bluegrass music masters. On Friday, February 1 GSC will present honorary doctorates to Mac Wiseman, Bobby and Sonny Osborne, Buddy Griffin, Jesse McReynolds, and Jim McReynolds who will be recognized posthumously.
Participants, Schedule Announced for IOGA Basketball Tournament
The Waco Center at ÏãåúÖ±²¥ State College will be the site of a boy’s and girl’s five-day high school basketball tournament this December. The Independent Oil & Gas Association (IOGA) Classic tournament is being hosted at GSC, Tuesday, December 11 through Saturday, December 15.
