Three Honored as Half-time Heroes at GSC Football Game

 Three individuals were honored through a new ‘Half-time Heroes’ initiative during the Pioneer Football game on Saturday, September 16. Dennis Carpenter, Amanda (Mandy) Frymier, and Dr. Dwight Heaster were recognized and thanked for their efforts on campus, in the community, and in GSC’s service area. Half-time Heroes are individuals who bring recognition to GSC through their dedication and civic duties, which enhances the overall image of ÏãåúÖ±²¥ State College.
Date set for Dr. Tracy Pellett's Inauguration

 The inauguration date for ÏãåúÖ±²¥ State College’s twenty-fourth president, Dr. Tracy L. Pellett, has been set. Pellett will be officially installed as GSC’s newest leader at the ceremony which will take place on Friday, November 10 at 4:00 p.m. in the College’s Fine Arts Center Auditorium. The public is invited.
GSC Athletic Director to Take New Position in Florida

 Marcal Lazenby will leave his position as ÏãåúÖ±²¥ State College’s Athletic Director, effective July 31. The announcement comes as he prepares to take a position as Director of Compliance at Saint Leo University in Tampa, Florida.

No Tuition Hike for 2017-18 at ÏãåúÖ±²¥ State College

 Despite another year of appropriation cuts to higher education in the Mountain State, ÏãåúÖ±²¥ State College announced Thursday that it would not be increasing student tuition and fees to offset the difference. Backed by the College’s Board of Governors, alumni, faculty, staff, students, and community members, incoming ÏãåúÖ±²¥ State College President Dr. Tracy Pellett made the announcement at GSC’s Waco Center.

ÏãåúÖ±²¥ State College History Book Now Available

 A full-color photo and history book about the last twenty years at ÏãåúÖ±²¥ State College has recently been completed. The book, Preserving and Responding, can be purchased from the ÏãåúÖ±²¥ State College Foundation or at the campus Bookstore for $24.99 (shipping included). The book is a companion to Nelson Wells’ and Charles Holt’s Lighthouse on the Hill, which chronicled the College’s history from 1872 through 1997.
Students Named to Spring 2017 Honor Lists at GSC
