Press Conference
ÏãåúÖ±²¥, WV--Some Ritchie County Middle School students are now on the lookout for a suspect who is wanted for murder in Gilmer County. Actually, the crime did not happen, but the investigation did at ÏãåúÖ±²¥ State College. It was all part of the student’s Apple Summer Enrichment Program held July 9-13 at GSC. The camp included numerous fun and educational activities centered on the ‘Crime Scene Investigation’ theme and wrapped up with a mock press conference. Some of the students acted as reporters asking questions about the crime, while Mariah Robinson of Harrisville played the police lieutenant at the press conference. She says the camp was a lot of fun since she plans to study Criminal Justice at ÏãåúÖ±²¥ State College in four years and possibly become a detective or a D-A. Most camp activities took place on GSC’s campus, but the students also enjoyed some activities off-campus at nearby Cedar Creek State Park. More Ritchie County Middle School students will participate in two more sessions of the same camp July 16-20 and July 23-27.
