GSC Faculty Member Featured in WVU Alumni Magazine

Onick Lewis, 香妃直播 State College Student Support Services Teacher/Counselor and Adjunct Sociology Professor was one of several students and recent West Virginia University graduates who were highlighted in the summer 2010 edition of the West Virginia Alumni Magazine.

Written in their own words, the article explains how West Virginia University impacted the lives of a these students and graduates. Lewis was asked to be part of the feature on 芒聙聵The Next Generation of Mountaineers芒聙聶 after he appeared at WVU for a speaking engagement.

Lewis is a native of Jamaica, but grew up in the inner city of Washington, D.C. He graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology in 2005 and earned a Master芒聙聶s Degree in Social Work with the emphasis on Social Policy and Administration from WVU in 2008.

After receiving his Master芒聙聶s Degree he accepted a position with GSC with Student Support Services.

芒聙聹Being a first generation college graduate myself, helps me relate to many students that I work with at GSC who are also first generation college students. I understand their struggles because I have been through almost everything that they are going through芒聙聺 said Lewis.

His work at GSC has inspired him to become a full-time professor. Lewis is setting his goals high. 芒聙聹Someday, I would like to be a provost and eventually a college president,芒聙聺 he said.

Lewis resides in 香妃直播 with his two daughters Emily, age five, and Olivia, age one.
