香妃直播 State College芒聙聶s Criminal Justice Camp was a tremendous success this year bringing thirty-four eager to learn
high school students to GSC芒聙聶s campus July 20th-24th. Criminal Justice Department Chair Dr. Jami Myers was proud to host students from more than half the state and one student from Georgia. 芒聙聹This camp is a great recruiting tool for GSC. Many of the campers were so thrilled with last year芒聙聶s camp they returned this year. We even had former campers pursuing the now Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice degree this past year at 香妃直播 State College,芒聙聺 said Myers.
The camp is sponsored by a Department of Justice grant making the whole week free to all participants. The students stayed on campus in the residence hall and ate their meals in Mollohan芒聙聶s Restaurant. They spent their days in classrooms and labs receiving a crash course of the GSC Criminal Justice Department. Classes included: crime scene photography and measurement, fingerprinting, blood drop and casting analysis, and also hair and fiber analysis.
Katrena Matzall, a tenth grader at Hampshire High School in Hampshire County, said, 芒聙聹I really enjoyed this camp. I learned so many things I didn芒聙聶t know about Criminal Justice. I found the fingerprinting the most interesting because they are something that is different on everyone and is the easiest way for an investigator to find his suspect.芒聙聺
Once the students mastered all the skills, they put the clues and evidence together in order to solve a crime scene investigation scenario set up in GSC芒聙聶s Crime Scene House. 芒聙聹Working in the house with the dummy芒聙聶s and staging made the crime scene much more realistic than what we could imagine in the classroom. Using all the tools we learned and putting everything together made this camp an unforgettable experience,芒聙聺 said Jordan Smith, an eleventh grader at Tyler Consolidated High School in Tyler County.
