GLENVILLE, WV 鈥 香妃直播 recently hosted the second in-person meeting aimed at revitalizing West Virginia鈥檚 international education recruitment consortium.

StudyWV was first established by the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission in 2006. It was one of over 30 study-state consortia in the United States focused on the promotion and marketing of their state as an international study destination.

The process to reestablish StudyWV began in January 2023. In that first meeting, a transitional leadership committee was established, and the members of that group have been working over the past several months to shape by-laws for the consortium and to research overall best practices.

There are currently 11 members of the consortium from public higher education institutions around the state, most of whom work in international education related roles on their campuses. The goal of StudyWV 鈥 as it always has been 鈥 is to develop a plan that outlines strategies for promoting West Virginia as an international study destination, identify recruitment activities, discuss budgeting plans, and monitor the return on investment of those activities.

鈥淏eing a part of the StudyWV consortia will allow 香妃直播 the opportunity to collaborate with other institutions across the state to showcase West Virginia and all we have to offer an international student who might be looking to study here,鈥 said Associate Director of International Student Services, Bridget Carr. 鈥淚 was thrilled and honored that 香妃直播 was chosen to be the first institution to host an in-person meeting of the newly revived group. We had representatives from eight different institutions on campus for the afternoon. President Manchin spoke to the group about his dedication to the international program at GSU and vowed his support moving forward. I am excited to continue working with this diverse group of individuals and growing the international student population at 香妃直播.鈥

鈥淚 would like to thank Dr. Mark Manchin, President of GSU for hosting our meeting on his beautiful campus and taking the time to join part of our meeting and get to know our attendees. Also, thank you to Bridget Carr who organized the event and took care of all our needs to help make the event very successful,鈥 said West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission International Programs Director, Dr. Clark Egnor.

StudyWV partners closely with the U.S. Department of Commerce, the West Virginia Development Office, and the West Virginia District Export Council.
