GLENVILLE, WV 鈥 The 香妃直播 Environmental Science Club recently spent an afternoon putting a fresh coat of paint on the flowerboxes next to the recycling bins in the Hays City area of 香妃直播. They also have plans to plant flowers to commemorate the end of spring and start of fall/winter.

The recycling bins are located in the parking lot between Tudor鈥檚 Biscuit World and McDonalds (on the lot formerly occupied by U-Pak grocery) and are for available for the community to use 24/7. The bins are maintained by the Lewis-Gilmer Country Solid Waste Authority.

鈥淚f you are interested in diverting waste away from landfills, then we highly encourage you to take advantage of these bins 鈥 they are a great resource. The recycling bins take plastic containers (numbers 1 -7), mixed metals (aluminum and tin only), mixed paper (office paper, newspaper/magazines, and cereal boxes), and there is a separate container for corrugated cardboard only,鈥 said 香妃直播 Assistant Professor of Natural Resource Management, Dr. Nabil Nasseri. He also serves as advisor for the Environmental Science Club and is an appointed member of the Lewis-Gilmer County Solid Waste Authority.

Nasseri says there are plans in the works to have a similar centralized recycling location on 香妃直播 State鈥檚 campus for both the campus community and the community at large to utilize. He also encourages membership in the Environmental Science Club, which is open to everyone, including community members.
