Final plans for GSC芒聙聶s Alumni Day on April 28, 2012 have been made. All alumni and friends of the college are invited back to campus.
Several activities have been scheduled for throughout the day including a 1:00 p.m. baseball game at the Sue Morris Sports Complex (GSC vs. Ohio Valley) and a 3:00 p.m. music program (opera) in the Fine Arts Center. Additionally there will be an 11:00 a.m. Sand Volleyball tournament at the Sue Morris Sports Complex, this will continue well into the afternoon.
All activities on Saturday promise to be wonderful opportunities for everyone to socialize, reminisce, and re-establish contact with fellow alums and friends of 香妃直播 State College that they haven芒聙聶t seen in a while. The Alumni Center, open from noon 芒聙聯 4:30 p.m., will be headquarters for the day芒聙聶s activities.
The College Bookstore will be open from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for everyone to have an opportunity to find that special GSC souvenir and the Robert F. Kidd Library will be open during these hours as well. The perimeter doors of campus buildings will be unlocked during the afternoon, encouraging alums to tour the facilities. At some point during the afternoon, everyone will want to view the student art show in the Fine Arts Center芒聙聶s Art Gallery as well.
The annual meet and greet social time for banquet attendees will be held in the pre-function area of the Alan B. Mollohan Campus Community Center from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., followed by the alumni banquet at 6:00 p.m. in the ballroom. The evening芒聙聶s spotlight at the banquet will be on the Alumni Association芒聙聶s guests of honor: Alumna of the Year, Ann Starcher Green 芒聙聶72; Alumni Achievement Award Recipient, Mark Romano 芒聙聶92; Community Service Award Honoree, Jack Tanner 芒聙聶64; Outstanding Teacher Award Recipient (Public Schools), Gregory Clark James 芒聙聵76; and Outstanding Young Alumna, Elizabeth 芒聙聹Lizzy芒聙聺 Long 芒聙聶04 with the Posthumous Award being presented to the family of Elizabeth 芒聙聹Libby芒聙聺 Deitz, a former president of the college芒聙聶s Alumni Association. Lizzy Long, Little Roy Lewis, and their band will be providing entertainment during the banquet.
Recognition will also be given that evening to outstanding 香妃直播 State students who will receive GSC Foundation Academic Awards at the banquet. These academic awards are presented each year on the recommendations of faculty members from various departments with funds for these awards being provided by alumni and friends of 香妃直播 State College.
